World Cup 2018: Holly Willoughby jokes about KILLING the psychic pig

On Wednesday’s episode of This Morning, a psychic pig called Mystic Marcus incorrectly predicted that England would beat Croatia in the World Cup semi-final. 

And subject quickly turned back to football on Thursday, when Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield joked about killing the pig after getting everyone’s hopes up ahead of their 2-1 defeat. 

As the show began, Phillip could be seen frying some food in a pan with a playful look in his eye, as he yelled out: ‘Holly, your bacon’s ready.’

Introducing the show, Holly said: ‘Marcus’ 100% record has been destroyed after he predicted an England win live on the show. 

Marcus the pig had recently correctly guessed that England would beat Colombia on July 3 and had a 100% unbeaten track record. 

Phil added: ‘Marcus is fine btw, he’s going to live to predict another day.’

On Wednesday, the micro pig had been given two piles of apples, some with Croatian flags in them and some with England flags in them while at his Derby farm.

The eight-year-old swine, which is owned by owned by Juliette Stevens, had eaten an apple with an England flag in it, leading people to believe victory was coming.

Claiming that his predictions are ‘very scientific’, Juliette had said on Wednesday that the apples are identical so as not to sway the swine.

‘I get two apples, the same variety, size and colour. It’s very strict,’ she explained.

His owner Juliette said: 'I'm still really proud of my little mystic Marcus. There's no way he'll get eaten even though England have been beaten'

Meanwhile, Holly also posted a picture of her her son, Harry, nine, as he watched the end of the match with a friend, with his head in his hands. 

She posted a broken heart emoji, adding: ‘For so many reasons he will never forget his 1st World Cup… x.’ 

Then on the show, she said: ‘I had two little boys in tears last night. They had to go out to the garden and walk it off.’
